Pankreometh Tablets

Each PANKREOMETH tablet contains pancreatin 170mg and activated dimethicone 80mg.

PANKREOMETH is a unique formulation designed to aid the digestion and treat GI disturbances. This combination contains dimethicone, an antifoaming agent that reduces gas formation in the body and pancreatin, which is the enzymatic combination of amylase, protease and lipase.

As said, pancreatin is an enzyme combination that works on carbohydrates, proteins, as well as lipids to break them down into maltose, smaller peptide chains and fatty acids respectively. Pancreatin is usually administered to patients who are unable to self-secrete the digestive enzymes. PANKREOMETH is helpful in improving the digestion and nutrient absorption rate in the patients.

Dimethicone works by reducing the surface tension of the air bubbles in the GI tract and allow them to pass easily either through belching or flatus. Activated dimethicone brings all the small bubbles together to form one larger bubble and reduces the number of gas expulsion events.
