Novawhite-C gel contains 20% micronized Vitamin C, 1% Vitamin E, 1% Hyaluronic acid and 0.5% Ferulic acid
Novawhite-C is a unique blend of essential nutrients that are required by the skin for natural rejuvenation and revitalization. This advanced skin formula consists of skin-brightening and antioxidant components that effectively help the skin fight against the photobiological damages and other skin damages caused due to harmful chemicals. Prime functions of Novawhite-C include neocollagenesis, inhibition of melanin production, photoprotection, ceramide synthesis, along with intense moisturization.
Vitamin C, which is the key ingredient of this formulation, stimulates collagen production and keeps the skin elastic and firm. This water-soluble vitamin protects the skin against the free radical induced skin damages. UV damage is a serious problem, which leads to collagen degeneration and dehydration of the skin and vitamin C prevents these. As the age advances, the dermal papillae density of the skin decreases; however, topical application of vitamin C can improve the dermal papillae density. With its strong antioxidant properties, vitamin C can block melanin production.
Vitamin E along with L-ascorbic acid provides effective protection against UVA and UVB damage to an extent. It improves the effectiveness of vitamin C by four-fold. Vitamin E, which exhibits strong antioxidant properties, reacts with the ROS to convert them to less reactive compounds. It also prevents premature aging.
Hyaluronic acid has a key role in maintaining the structural integrity of the skin. It is also an excellent moisturizer that adjusts its absorption rate depending upon the humidity. It prevents the sunspots that are caused by UV radiation. It offers strong protection against the UVB damage by acting as an effective barrier between the dermis and the external environment.
Ferulic acid acts as a formulation stabilizer in Novawhite-C. However, it also has a few other significant benefits such as photoprotection, prevention of stress-induced oxidation, and prevention of wrinkles and fine lines. Presence of ferulic acid makes this formulation, 8 times more effective.
Research experiments show that vitamin C is not adequately available to the skin when administered orally. Topical application of vitamin C is said to be 20 times more effective than the oral administration when it comes to the skin benefits. Topical application of vitamin C has rejuvenating effects on the skin and it heals various photobiological damages at a faster rate.
L-Ascorbic acid becomes unstable above pH 3.5 and high temperatures and it easily loses its functions and efficacy under these conditions. Combinational administration of L-ascorbic acid along with the other nutrients such as vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, and ferulic acid, prevents these undesirable reactions and protects the efficacy of vitamin C.
Vitamin C serums come with a few limitations. Regular usage of vitamin C leads to acne breakouts and flaky skin. In some, it might also lead to allergic reactions like redness and itching.
On the other hand, micronized vitamin C gel has better skin-penetrating abilities and absorption. Its gel form has a soothing effect on the skin and neither does it lead to irritations or flaky skin. The gel form of vitamin C is considered to be one of the most stable forms of vitamin C, as chances of vitamin C converting itself to a pro-oxidant is very low in this form.
