Novagliptin Tablets

Novagliptin Tablets

Each NOVAGLIPTIN tablet contains teneligliptin 20mg

Teneligliptin is an antidiabetic drug that belongs to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. This drug improves the glycemic control without causing hypoglycemia and weight gain, like other antidiabetic drugs. Teneligliptin is derived from pyrrolidine. This drug works by increasing the incretin levels (GLP-1 and GIP), which plays a key role in inhibiting the release of glucagon, increasing insulin secretion and decreasing the blood glucose levels.

Teneligliptin reduces the triglycerides levels in the blood by increasing the levels of GLP-1 and is helpful in the prevention of various cardiovascular disorders. In diabetics, teneligliptin improves the endothelial functions and left ventricular diastolic functions and boosts the levels of serum adiponectin, which has strong anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic and vasoprotective actions.
