Discort-30 Tablets

Each DISCORT-30 tablet contains deflazacort 30mg.

DISCORT-30 is the brand name for deflazacort, which is belongs to the class of glucocorticoids. Deflazacort is synthetic steroid derived from prednisolone and it acts as an effective anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant agent. Deflazacort is an inactive prodrug, which is converted to its active form after the administration. However the effects of this drug last for a shorter duration than that of prednisolone.

After the oral administration, deflazacort is rapidly converted into 21-desDFZ in presence of esterases. These active metabolites act on the glucocorticoid receptors to exhibit anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. The exact mechanism of this drug is yet unknown.
