PENTADRYL-T Syrup

Each 5 ml contains

  • Terbutaline 2.5 mg
  • Bromhexine 8 mg
  • Guaiphenesin 100 mg
  • Menthol 0.5 mg

DESCRIPTION

Terbutaline is a selectibe beta2 adrenergic agonist which predominately stimulates beta2- receptors thus producing relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle.

Guaiphenesin has an expectorant action. It reduces sputum viscosity by increasing the volume and water content of the bronchial secretion thereby facilitating the expectoration of sputum.

Bromhexine is intended to support the body’s mechanism for clearing mucus from the respiratory tract. It is a secreolytic, increasing the production of mucus in the respiratory tract and makes the phlegm thinner and less viscous.

Menthol has a cooling effect on the throat. It has been suggested that benefits of menthol may be due to an effect on calcium channels of sensory nerves.
