PENTADRYL-T Syrup

Composition:

Each 5mL of PENTADRYL-T contains terbutaline sulphate 1.25mg, bromhexine hydrochloride 4mg, guaiphenesin 50mg and menthol 0.5mg.

Description:

PENTADRYL-T is an effective decongestant that addresses most of the complications that are associated with common cold, cough and fever.

Terbutaline sulfate eases the breathing difficulties that are caused due to congestion associated with cold and other respiratory tract infections. It acts as a selective beta2-adrenergic bronchodilator that increases the cAMP levels in the blood that are necessary for the relaxation of smooth muscles and blocks of the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes during hypersensitivity reactions.

Bromhexine hydrochloride is an effective mucolytic and expectorant agent that works by loosening, breaking down the hard mucus and easing its flow. This drug increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, and with its secretomotoric activity, it allows the mucus to be expelled out of the lungs through cilia transport.

Guaiphenesin is also an expectorant that acts on the hard mucus to reduce its viscosity of the mucus by increasing its volume, which will ease its expectoration.

Menthol relieves cough and will have a soothing effect on the throat.
