Noll-CF DS

Noll-CF DS

Composition:

NOLL-CF dry syrup contains cefixime 50mg, ofloxacin 50mg, and lactic acid sporogenes 60 MS

Description:

NOLL-CF DS is the antibacterial combination of cefixime, ofloxacin and lactic acid sporogenes. Cefixime is a beta-lactam antibiotic and ofloxacin is also a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against several Gram +ve and Gram-ve bacteria.

Cefixime:

Cefixime is beta-lactam antibiotic that belongs to the class of third-generation cephalosporins, with high resistance to beta-lactamase activity. Cefixime works by inhibiting the peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. Cefixime binds to specific penicillin-binding proteins, which have a key role in the transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. This binding between the PBPs and beta-lactam ring of cefixime blocks the cell wall synthesis in the bacterial cells, eventually leading to cell death. This drug is exclusively metabolized in the liver.

Ofloxacin:

Ofloxacin works by interfering with the cell division in bacteria. It is a synthetic antibiotic that belongs to the class of second-generation fluoroquinolones. This drug specifically acts on the enzymes, DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV that are associated with DNA unwinding and supercoiling during DNA replication, respectively. This activity interferes with the normal cell division and eventually, arrests the bacterial growth. The affinity of this drug towards bacterial topoisomerase is 100 times more than that of its affinity towards the mammalian topoisomerase.

Role of lactic acid bacillus in this formulation is to kill the harmful bacteria and improving the functioning of the immune system.
