Fungal diastase is a starch degrading enzyme used as an effective digestive aid and helps in digestion of carbohydrate & starch in the diet into simple polysaccharides & sugar. Pepsin is a digestive protease active at acidic pH, which degrades protein into peptides & Amino acids. Pepsin is an enzyme whose zymogen (pepsinogen) is released by the chief cells in the stomach and that degrades food proteins into peptides. Fungal diastase is a supplement.
Peppermint oil is commonly used as flavoring in foods and beverages and as a fragrance in soaps and cosmetics. Peppermint oil has been tried for a variety of digestive problems including irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, and heartburn.

The common side effects which can occur while taking MINTOZYME Syrup are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps/pain, or heartburn.
Potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. In lactating mothers , there is positive evidence of risk to a breastfed infant or to breastmilk production but the benefits of use in breastfeeding mothers may be acceptable despite the risk to the infant e.g if the drug is needed in a lifethreatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective
MINTOZYME is available as syrup. Every 10 ml contains Fungal diastase 50 mg and Pepsin 10 mg and Peppermint oil 1 mg . The total content in each bottle is 200 ml.
