HOGINZ Liquid contains Cyprohetadine,Tricholine citrate and Sorbitol. Cyproheptadine (Cp), an antihistamine serotonin antagonist drug with appetite-stimulating activity, was given to children with growth hormone (GH) deficiency to test the hypothesis that increased weight gain would enhance the effect of GH on linear growth. Cyproheptadine hydrochloride is a serotonin and histamine antagonist use in children for allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, dermatographism and mild angioedema. Unexplained weight gain has been observed in patients taking Cyproheptadine. Cyproheptadine for appetite can be highly effective in patients who have a reduced desire to eat, or need to gain weight. This drug is an effective appetite stimulant in children with asthma, failure to thrive, short stature, and anorexia nervosa.
Tricholine Citrate is a hepato-protective agent .Tricholine Citrate increases appetite and spares methionine for growth.Tricholine citrate exerts lipotropic action in the hepatic cells. Choline converts deposited fats into lecithin and other similar phospholipids. Lecithin is a major component of high density lipoprotein (HDL) that mobilizes cell membrane cholesterol and promotes hepatic degeneration. In cirrhosis and fatty liver, an increased level of plasma phospholipids can be observed after Tricholine citrate administration
HOGINZ Liquid stimulates appetite, provides effective hepato-protective action, ensures weight gain, and enhances protein synthesis. It is indicated in hepatobiliary disorders associated with anorexia resulting in weight loss.
