Deflazacort 6 mg Tablet

Composition:

Each DISCORT-6 tablet contains deflazacort 6mg.

Description:

Deflazacort is a powerful anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. Deflazacort belongs to the class of corticosteroids. This drug works as a corticosteroid hormone receptor agonist, which suppresses and soothes the symptoms of inflammation.

Mechanism of Action:

Deflazacort is a derivative of prednisolone and its potency is around 70-90% that of the latter. Deflazacort is rapidly absorbed and converted to its active form, 21-desacetyldeflazacort, which then exhibits the anti-inflammatory properties by acting on the glucocorticoid receptors. This drug has no effect on the blood glucose levels and is observed to be safe and effective.

Contraindication:

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity towards deflazacort, typhoid, high blood pressure, adrenal suppression and infections such as chicken pox and measles.

Adverse Effects:

Adverse effects of this medicine include fever, sore throat, white patches in the mouth, skin redness, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stools, pain while urinating, weight gain, depressed moods, headache and night sweats.

Precaution:

There are no sufficient and well-controlled studies when it comes to deflazacort administration in pregnant women and nursing mothers. Therefore, if you are pregnant or nursing, discuss with your doctor about your condition before taking this medicine. Presentation:
