Acne Treatment-ADADIS Gel

Composition

One gram of ADADIS Gel contains:
Adapalene – 0.1%
Benzoyl peroxide – 2.5%

Description:

ADADIS gel is a topical formulation specially designed for the treatment of different types of acne such as blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, nodules and pustules. ADADIS works on both inflammatory and non-inflammatory types of acne. This medication contains adapalene, which a retinoid acne-reducing agent and benzoyl peroxide, which is an antibacterial skin-peeling agent.

Various reasons for acne breakouts include excess production of oil, accumulation of bacterial cells in the skin pores, dead skin cells, ingrown hairs, etc. Adapalene works by deeply cleansing the skin pores, which gives a smooth texture and even tone to the skin. The pharmacological studies conducted on adapalene show that it has a chemical structure that is stable when used in combination with benzoyl peroxide. Adapalene strongly inhibits the keratinocyte differentiation. It prevents the formation of acne with its comedolytic effects. It also exhibits strong anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties.

Benzoyl peroxide exhibits strong antibiotic properties against the acne-causing bacterium, Propionibacterium acnes. This bacterial species cannot survive in the oxygenated environment and benzoyl peroxide as an oxidizing agent kills the bacteria by oxygenating the skin surface and the pores. It also prevents the oil production that leads to blemishes. With its free-radical reaction, benzoyl peroxide induces the lysis of keratinocytes and unblocks the sebum drainage.
